Women's Month | Borges literary workshop

EVENT DATE:
22/03/2024

EVENT PLACE:

"Far away and a long time ago"

Closing women's month, we invite you to a very special workshop.

To talk about Jorge Luis Borges and his relation with English culture with the help of the literature expert Federico Arregui .

A library of unlimited English books, an English grandmother, a father who proudly declared, never with vanity, that he was half English and who left in his son the cadence of John Keats' verses. "I think of England as one thinks of a beloved person, of something irreplaceable and individual," Borges wrote in July 1945.

But what is there between Jorge Luis Borges and that "torn and lateral island?", As he sometimes defined it?, Are there just ancestors?, Are there just some books, or is there something more? Something that resonates, secret but present, in his masterful literature.

In charge of: Federico Arregui
